A: No. The S7‑400H series CPUs are not supported in TIA Portal. They can only be configured in STEP 7 Classic (e.g., V5.5) or in the PCS 7 process control system.
Q: How to select the S7‑400H for harsh environments?
A: For corrosive gases: the standard S7‑400H can theoretically be used in G3 corrosion protection class environments. If the corrosion is more severe, the SIPLUS series 400H products are recommended.
For high altitude: the standard 400H can operate below 2000 m. Between 2000 m and 3000 m, it may be possible with enhanced heat dissipation measures.
For altitudes higher than 3000 m, the SIPLUS series must be used, which supports altitudes from 1000 m to +5000 m.
